Fayetteville Street: This "Main Street" of downtown Raleigh is the centerpiece of a multibillion-dollar revitalization effort.
North Carolina State Capitol: The 19th-century beauty is steeped in history and has been restored to its 1840-1865 appearance.
Governor’s Mansion: Built in 1891, the stately Queen-Anne style home was built with convict labor and serves as the official residence of North Carolina's governor.
Moore Square: One of the original four "park" squares of the City plan, the park is now used for many city celebrations and is the home of Raleigh's giant copper acorn!
Historic City Market: Founded in 1914, it replaced the Raleigh market traditionally held on Fayetteville Street; making it Raleigh’s first "shopping center.”
Capital City East includes these sights too:
Oakwood Historic District: The 19th-century neighborhood was Raleigh's first true "suburb" and is filled with lovely period homes.
Oakwood Cemetery: Founded in 1869, it is the final resting place of nearly 1,500 Confederate soldiers; the House of Memory pays tribute to North Carolinians who've served our country in times of conflict.
Mordecai Historic Park: Featuring Mordecai House (1785/1826), this former plantation offers a glimpse into early life in Raleigh.

This Intermediate Level Tour is ideal for experienced gliders who’ve been on a Segway tour before. The tour features these sights and more:
Hillsborough Street: This thoroughfare was one of Raleigh's most prestigious addresses in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
Glenwood Avenue: Today known as "Glenwood South," it is one of downtown Raleigh's dining and nightlife hubs.
St. Mary's School: During the Civil War, St. Mary’s became a safe haven for relatives of both Union and Confederate generals, including Robert E. Lee’s daughter and the family of Jefferson Davis.
Joel Lane Museum House: Built in the 1770s for Joel Lane, a prominent statesman and soldier known as “The Father of Raleigh,” this restored landmark is the oldest existing home in Wake County.
